FORWARD FUSELAGE

As for today, we will move on to enlarge the holes on the Seat Channel, 75F11-1, the holes with the red clecos. There are 4 – L angles located on both sides and 2 each.

With a #30 drill bit, we then drilled through the Seat Channel,75F11-1, Passenger Side, into the L–angles. Each of the L- angles was clecoed with #40 before and #30 after the enlarging process. The holes are then checked for consistencies and everything is fine. The enlarged holes are then gripped with #30 grip pin.

Then the #30 grip pin is then replaced with #30 clecos for temporary fastener.

Then we move on the pilot side of the Seat Channel. All the holes have been gripped with #40 grip pin.

Then the #30 grip pin is then replaced with #30 clecos for temporary fastener. If you can see there is a small extra edge on the shorter L-angle.We have trimmed that extra edge.

Then we installed the Seat Base, 75F11-4 and cleco to the forward fuselage. Then, we installed the Seat Support,75F11-2, upside down (as refered to our DVD Building guide). The Seat Base is checked to be stiffened when we installed it like this.

With a sharpie pen, we then marked the hole through the Seat Base to the Cabin Side on the passenger side. The DVD building guide, ask us to drill through the Seat Base to the Cabin Side at this point. But, we didn’t have small air drill, so we decided to drill it later when we disassemble the Seat Base and the Cabin Side from the forward fuselage.

We also have done the same operation to the Cabin Side on the Pilot Side.

We then drilled through the Seat Base to the Cabin Side, pilot side, with #40 drill bit. The holes are then gripped with #40 grip pin.

Then we drilled through the Seat Base to the Cabin Side, passenger side, with #40 drill bit. The holes are then also gripped with #40 grip pin.

Then we installed the Seat base and the Cabin Side to the Forward Fuselage as shown in the picture above. No problem with the assembly on the Pilot Side for today. On the next work,we will move on to assemble the Passenger Side Seat Pan.
