REAR FUSELAGE

Today, we have studied the assembly plan and photo assembly manual about how to continue on the rear fuselage assembly 75-FA-1. Then, we clecoed the Middle Rudder Hinge Plate (75F3-1),Rudder Hinge Shim (75F3-3) and Lower Rudder Hinge Plate (75F3-2) to the bottom skin with #40 cleco. The Rudder Hinge Shim is positioned between the Longerons and flushed with the aft edge of the bottom skin.

The assembly is then checked for consistency.

With a #40 drill bit, we then drill two holes that is not drilled yet through the Middle Rudder Hinge Plate (75F3-1) and Rudder Hinge Shim (75F3-3) to the left side fuselage longeron.

As in the picture shown that the Middle Rudder Hinge Plate (75F3-1),Rudder Hinge Shim (75F3-3) and Lower Rudder Hinge Plate (75F3-2) are clecoed with #40 clecos.

As in this picture, we have enlarged the holes through the Middle Rudder Hinge Plate (75F3-1), Rudder Hinge Shim (75F3-3) and Lower Rudder Hinge Plate (75F3-2) to A5 size hole except the center hole for the tie down ring as instructed in the photo assembly manual and shown clearly in the Assembly Plan 75-FA-1.

As in the photo assembly manual, the center holes need a 5/16” hole for tie down ring. So, we enlarged the hole to 5/16” hole with a 5/16” drill size.

As shown in the picture, we have finished operating the tail section. We deburred the Middle Rudder Hinge Plate (75F3-1), Rudder Hinge Shim (75F3-3) Lower Rudder Hinge Plate (75F3-2),Bootom Skin and Both Longerons and clean the burrs.

And now we move on to the Rear Top Fuselage. As in this photo manual, we need to drill through the Upper Rudder Hinge Plate (75F2-7) and the longerons. So we have clecoed it with #40 cleco and checked for the onsistency. Then we started to drill the 4 pilot holes into 3/16” holes size.

As in the picture, we have finished drilling the 4 holes into 3/16”.The holes are then deburred and checked for consistency. All are good and no issue for today.
