WING ROOT ANGLE & WING ROOT TOP SKIN ASSEMBLY ( LEFT WING )

 

At 400mm from the rear end, a mark was placed. The angle was flatten with a plastic hammer

from 0 degrees at the aft end to 30 degrees at the 400mm mark.

The Wing Root Angle was lay on the wing. A mark was placed between the rivet locations.

The flange of the Wing Root Angle was crimps on the marks to match the curvature of the Ribs.

Nose Skin and I/B Top Skin were back drilled into the Wing Root Angle. A center line was drawn on the Spar Root Doubler, flange and on the Root Rear Rib. The Wing Root Top Skin was positioned on the Wing with the center lines visible through the predrilled holes. With a #40 drill bit, the holes in the Wing Root Top Skin was back drilled. The Wing Root Angle was slid under theNose Skin and I/B Top Skin. With a #40 drill bit, the holes in the Wing Root Top Skin was back drilled.
