FUSELAGE JOINING & FORWARD FUSELAGE SECTION
We have positioned the Upper Engine Mount Fitting on the Longeron against the Firewall
Then, we grind the top outside corner until the Fitting will set flush with the edge of the Longeron. The edge of the Longeron is then marked on the bottom of the Fitting. A hole is then marked as the hole through the firewall
We then make a layout a hole 10mm from the aft end of the Upper Engine Mount Fitting centered on the Longeron. A hole 10mm from the front edge of the Longeron, on the Upper Engine Mount Fitting centered on the longeron is then layout. With a #40 drill bot, we have pre drilled the holes for the bolts in the Upper Engine Mount Fittings. The Upper Engine Mount Fitting is then positioned on the longeron, and with a #40 drill bit, we then drilled and cleco. The hole is not yet to be drilled to 3/16” at this time. We have finished on the Pilot Side, next we will start on the passenger side
Next we do the same process to the Passenger Side. Clamped the Upper Engine Mount Fitting and marked the edge of the longeron
After we have grind the Upper Engine Mount Fitting on the passenger side, to fit with the firewall, we then make a mark on the edge of the longeron to the Upper Engine Mount Fitting. Two holes are then layout 10 mm from the mark of the front Upper Engine Mount Fitting and 10 mm from the aft edge of the Upper Engine Mount Fitting. The marks are then drilled with #40 drill bit through the longeron
The hole is not yet to be drilled to 3/16” at this time
