FUSELAGE JOINING & FORWARD FUSELAGE SECTION
As for today, on the Pilot Side Fuselage, we have cut a piece of L angle 150 mm long. Marked the center line on both flanges. A rivet location 10 mm from each end of the L angle is then marked, then even space 3 more rivet locations.
With a #40 drill bit, we have pre drill the holes in the L-angle.
Then we have positioned the L angle on the Gear Channel against the Cabin Side. We have back drill through the L angle into the Gear Channel and cleco. As it is not sufficient to fit iin our angle drill to drill through the L-angle and the Cabin Side, we have marked the hole on the Gear Strut Fitting and will drill it later.
We have checked the marked so that it will not clash with the stiffener on the Gear Strut Fitting.
Then, we have also done the same process to the Passenger Side Fuselage. We have cut 150 mm L-angle, mark the center line on both flanges, marked a rivet location 10 mm from each end of the L-angle, then even space 3 more rivet locations.
Then, with a #40 drill bit, we have pre drilled the holes in the L angle. Then positioned the L-angle on the Gear Channel against the Cabin Side. Then, back drilled through the L-angle into the Gear Channel and Gripped with grip pin. We also have marked the required holes on the L-angle to the cabin side, and will drill it out later.
As shown in the picture above, we have taken out the Pilot side Gear Strut Fitting. Clamped it with 2 aluminum thick sheet. An electric drill is then used with #40 drill bit, to drill through the Gear Strut Fitting.
Here is the picture after the Gear Strut Fitting has been drilled with #40 drill bit for today.
As also shown in above picture, we have drilled both of the Gear Strut Fitting with #40 drill bit.
We have attached the Pilot Side Gear Strut Fitting on its position.
With #40 Grip Pin, we have gripped the Gear Strut Fitting with the L-angle, and the Cabin Side.
As on the Passenger Side, we have attached the Gear Strut Fitting on the Passenger Side, Grip pin, including as shown.
